La creatività del filato MÉLANGE

The creativity of MÉLANGE yarn

mélangemelã ′ˇ∫ › sm, fr. [der. of mêler «to mix»]. – 1. Mixture, a whole resulting from the union of different elements: a m . of colors , one m . of vegetables , one m . of ethnic groups . In particular, in the textile industry, the term refers to yarns composed of fibers of different colours, or to fabrics which have a shaded and not clearly distinguishable color effect.

Mélange yarn appears to have French origins, probably linked to embroidery and needles. Mélange yarn is a yarn usually composed of 2,3 or 4 threads and, in turn, each thread coupled with the other two twisted threads. The different proportions of threads change the uniqueness of the yarn. In silk, we normally use pairing of 2 threads. Being a mixture of different colors, the beauty of these yarns is that they develop different and irregular shades in the final fabric.

The characteristics and uniqueness of this fabric are expressed through games and spotted effects.
